Warning - gruesome detail ahead!
Mr Floof was recently brought into foster care by Perth Rescue Angels trapping team, after a business in an industrial area reported seeing him around their premises. His foster carer soon noticed something odd with his leg - it appeared to be injured, possibly broken, and may even require amputation.
The team at Paws & More Vet Centre examined his leg and took some x-rays and were gobsmacked to discover that Mr Floof already took care of that himself! It's likely at some stage in his life Mr Floof chewed off his own leg... his handy work is pictured below.
Although we can't know for sure, it's quite possible that whilst living on the streets Mr Floof injured his leg or become stuck, and faced a very spooky decision. We're so glad to report that Mr Floof is thriving on three legs and slowly adjusting to life in foster care.
Although Mr Floof doesn't need to go under the knife, many of our foster cats and kittens face health issues (or false alarms) that can become costly - proven by the fact that 95% of our expenses are vet bills!
