FOSTER

Fostering involves taking a foster animal(s) of your choice (cat, kitten, dog or puppy) into your home for a time determined by you (we ask for a minimum of a couple of weeks commitment) or until they are adopted.

While we would love to be able to afford to supply our carers with food and litter for their fosters we can only rely on donations to do so. This means that generally carers supply most of the food and litter for their fosters. We often do call outs for donations so when we do have donations it is shared amongst our carers.

Carers also need to transport their fosters to their vet appointments (made at a time convenient for you at one of our allocated vets) unless previously discussed. All vet work is paid for by the rescue. We currently work with vets located in Canning vale, Mosman Park and Yangebup. If getting your foster to the vet is an issue we can also try asking our wonderful team of volunteer drivers if they can assist.

Once your foster has had their required vet work (vet check, sterilization, microchip, vaccination, and flea and worm treatment) we then ask the pawesome team at Shutter Paws to come take professional photos of your fosters and you write us a profile detailing your fosters personality.

Once your foster is up for adoption we get applications from potential adopters. Our adoption team assess the applications and if successful the carer then arranges a meet with the family. Once you meet the family if you are happy with them and they pay the adoption fee your foster can go to their new home.

THEN REPEAT.
